Bridge Tracing

Bridge tracing is the correlation of a deposit into a cross-chain bridge on one network with the corresponding release of value on another network.

Cross-chain bridges lock or burn assets on a source chain and mint or release equivalents on a destination chain, so value appears to vanish and reappear. Bridge tracing reconnects the two sides by reading the bridge contract's events, matching the locked amount, recipient, and timing to the destination-side release. Decoded on-chain data makes the bridge's internal transfers legible rather than opaque. This is a specialized case of cross-chain tracing focused on bridge mechanics, and it is essential because bridges are a favored laundering venue; resolved bridge transfers keep the counterparty graph and exposure breakdown continuous across networks.
