EDD

Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) is the intensified diligence applied to higher-risk customers, transactions, or jurisdictions, requiring additional verification and scrutiny beyond standard CDD.

EDD is triggered by higher-risk factors such as PEP status, high-risk jurisdictions, unusual transaction patterns, or exposure to illicit sources. It typically demands source-of-funds and source-of-wealth evidence, senior sign-off, and closer ongoing monitoring. In crypto the source-of-funds requirement is where on-chain analysis proves decisive. Our multi-hop fund-flow tracing reconstructs where a customer's assets originated, the exposure breakdown attributes them to categories and hop distances, and the address risk-score quantifies the concern, giving an EDD file reproducible, evidenced conclusions rather than reliance on customer attestation, and documenting the basis for any escalation.
