Cold wallet
A cold wallet is a wallet whose private keys are held offline, isolating them from internet-based attacks.
Cold storage keeps the signing key on an offline device, so an attacker who compromises online systems still cannot move the funds. It holds reserves that do not need to move often, while a hot wallet handles day-to-day flow. Spending requires deliberately signing offline. A cold wallet's balances still appear in our wallet-analytics and net-worth reads, and when funds do move, the signed transaction can be broadcast through our non-custodial broadcast endpoint.
