Staking

Staking is the act of locking up cryptocurrency to support the operation or security of a proof-of-stake network or protocol, in exchange for rewards.

In proof-of-stake networks, validators lock tokens as collateral and earn issuance and fees for producing valid blocks, while delegators can stake to a validator to share rewards. Beyond consensus, many protocols offer staking contracts that pay rewards for committing tokens. Stakes, delegations and reward claims are all on-chain events. Our decoded transaction data lets a caller track staking positions and reward flows, and spot prices let those balances be valued in a common unit.
