Crypto settlement

Crypto settlement is the finalization of a payment, at which the on-chain transfer is confirmed irreversible and the value is credited to the recipient.

Settlement is where a payment stops being pending and becomes final: enough confirmations have accrued that the transfer is treated as irreversible, and the merchant can release goods or credit an account. Because merchants automate on this signal, it must be delivered reliably. Our payments layer emits a settlement webhook when an invoice's transfer reaches finality, signed with HMAC-SHA256 so the recipient can verify authenticity before acting. The same event underpins reconciliation against the decoded on-chain transaction.
