Blocklist Address
A blocklist address is a crypto wallet identified as prohibited or high-risk, for example a sanctioned, stolen-funds, or known-criminal address, that a firm blocks from transacting.
Blocklists aggregate addresses tied to OFAC designations, hacks, ransomware, darknet markets, or fraud, and firms reject direct dealings with them. But a strict address match is only the first line of defence, because illicit funds are moved on to fresh, unlisted addresses. Sanctions screening on our platform checks counterparties against blocklists, and multi-hop fund-flow tracing plus an exposure breakdown detect the indirect case: an unlisted address whose balance traces back through several hops to a blocklisted source. That indirect exposure feeds the address risk-score so a clean-looking address is still scored on its history.
