Red Flag Indicator

A red flag indicator is a specific, observable characteristic of a transaction, address, or customer that suggests possible money laundering or other financial crime and warrants further scrutiny.

FATF and regulators publish crypto red-flag typologies: exposure to mixers or darknet markets, rapid movement through many fresh addresses, structuring patterns, or transfers to sanctioned clusters. A single flag rarely proves wrongdoing, but a cluster of them justifies enhanced due diligence or a SAR. The value is in surfacing these signals automatically. On our platform, KYT transaction screening and the address risk-score encode common red flags, while the exposure breakdown by category and multi-hop fund-flow tracing make the underlying evidence explicit, so an analyst sees not just a score but which indicators drove it.
